John Craig started trading in 1945 and turned 63 years of age on 13 July 2008. Effective the 5th April 2006, John Craig is a wholly owned subsidiary of Pepkor Limited.

The core business is branded retail apparel and accessories and focuses on exclusive up-market clothing, footwear, accessories and cellular products. John Craig offers credit on 6-months interest free accounts and accepts lay-byes, cash and credit card purchases.

John Craig was the first men’s outfitter to offer credit to customers in the ‘50’s. They introduced free tailoring and alterations, a service that still remains available today. The brand introduced lay-bye services enabling the man to put aside that special shirt and gradually pay it off, and then came the money back guarantee, another commitment to quality that is still part of the brand. Since way back in the 1940’s John Craig has been synonymous with selling top brands. For generations of men wanting to dress elegantly and classically John Craig was the destination when in need of formal, smart and stylish clothing and footwear.

With over 45 stores nationally, in 2007 John Craig moved into more cosmopolitan areas opening its first store in Rosebank , followed by Cresta and Greenstone in late 2007. John Craig is set to become a major player in the men’s fashion market.

Free State, Gauteng, Kwa-Zulu Natal, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, North West Province, Northern Cape, Northern Province.
